First One On The Blog!

Well, here goes SOMETHING..

I asked my friends on Facebook what I should write about for my first blog post and the results were inconclusive. So I have decided to tell you about my vision for my blog! So without further adieu,

Gentle Ladies and Lady-like Gentlemen,

It is my privilege to present to you the first blog about the thoughts of your very own, Robin Smith! This blog will be designed to:

  1. Help you consider the inconsiderable
  2. Help you think about the unthought-of
  3. Give me something to do to waste time

Before you dive into my blog head-first, this is what I would like you (yes, YOU!) to understand as I post only what my heart desires. This morning my father told me, *clears throat*

Thumper from the movie, "Bambi"

“If you can’t say something nice… don’t say anything at all.”

There is never intention to hurt your feelings. Then again, I also want you to understand that I am writing this blog for/about myself, primarily, and you… secondarily? ;)

Who IS this kid?

Some of you might already know who I am. Chances are you already know a lot about me, but I believe an informal introduction of who I am is in order!

Music is my passion. I love doing anything having to do with music! From going to concerts/shows to tearing a rug at dances! But my heart truly lies with an acoustic guitar in my hands. There are nights that I play myself to sleep with my ukulele.. haha

I am a proud member of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints. It is the biggest accomplishment thus-far in my life to be able to say that I love and have a personal relationship with my Heavenly Father. Every Sunday I go to church with my family.

I love singing. Period. I am in a choir called, Zion Youth Choir! I have come a long way, physically but most important, spiritually since my first year in the choir. There is just something about singing your lungs out to a group of complete strangers that takes my heart.

I am very romantic. When I say that, I don’t claim that I know what true love is, because I don’t. I guess I mean to imply that I WANT to know what it is. I spend a lot of my days pondering this topic and I can never wrap my head around it. When I stare off into space, this is what I am thinking about.

I do believe though, that my favorite hobby is making people smile. Whether it is through a funny gesture, or an act of spontaneous kindness. My heart leaps in my chest when I see people smile. Do me a favor and smile at me whenever possible!

Like most people would enjoy a good book, I enjoy good TV shows. I am dyslexic, so it has always been difficult for me to read. Most people claim that watching television will rot your brain, for me; TV shows paint a masterpiece of ideas and scenarios in my head.

The human thought process amazes me. How I can say one thing and the other person is already thinking about what they have to say in response.

Most guys say that they’re interested in “Cars!” and “Guns!” and so on. But I am really interested in Guitars and music!

Ever since I was a baby, I have been using computers. They are a big part of my family. So I only use the best: Macintosh (Apple, Mac, etc.) Computers.

Dogs and Puppies steal my attention like a thief in the night! They are my favorite animal, besides of course the fantastically clever Fox.

Anything about baseball interests me. I played baseball for thirteen years in Saratoga, California. I only have room in my heart for one team, the San Francisco Giants.

I like to think that the little kid inside of me lives on. I love observing little kids and how they act! I think that we have a lot to learn from their… species

And last but NEVER least: Disney Princesses. I love them! This interest originates from just being interested in GIRLS, obvs. I believe that all girls should be treated like a true Princess by a happy and worthy Prince.

I am:
Easy like Sunday morning!

I love:
Mormon girls!
Speaking in accents!
The atmosphere of airports!
Lemonade!
Mustaches!
Nicknames!
Peanut butter!
Golf driving ranges!
Shopping/playing “What Not To Wear” for my girls that need help with style!

I suffer from:
1.] Emetophobia (Fear of Throwing Up)
2.] Ichthyophobia (Fear of Fish)
3.] Atychiphobia (Fear of Rejection, specifically from girls)

4.] A genetic tremor in my hands, inherited by my Mother

I’ve never:
Had a bruise!
Been stung by a bee!
Had alcohol!
Done drugs!
Been to California Adventure!
Out of the U.S. of A!
Surfed/Ski’d/Snowboarded!

Its been:
Eight years since I’ve thrown up!
Five years since I’ve cussed!

I do:
Shop at Salvation Army/Goodwill!
Know how to sew!
Only shave on Sundays!
Play tennis with my Father every morning! Bright and early!
Go to Utah every summer!

I did:
Play in a band called Pacific Lights [formerly Sleepwell/Make Believe]!
Used to have a bowl-cut!
Play baseball for 13 years!
Hike half dome!
Have a mustache!

I dislike:
Fish!

I wish:
I could tell the girls that I’ve had crushes on them!
I could play rugby!
I took dance lessons when I was younger!

Now that we are properly acquainted.. sorta,

I genuinely hope that you enjoy reading my blog.
